NIM Bins
The CAMAC crate is one thing but the old NIM bins are still used. The Gate Generator, Counter, delay boxes, and power supplies go in these bins.
Figure 1 : Nim bins. The top bin has: discriminator (black,
unused), logic unit (blue, unused), gate generator, counter (brown), C.A.E.N. power
supply (red), and a silver power supply.
The middle bin has 4 power supplies and 2 delay boxes (blue and black).
The big blue thing on the bottom is a distribution box. It gets powered by one of the
power supplies. It has many channels, each with a column of pins where you subtract
however many volts you want (up to 300V) from the input voltage (which has been 1200V
for as long as I can remember).
